Every knitter makes mistakes—the trick is knowing how to recognize them and fix them with confidence.
In this hands-on workshop, Carolyn will teach you how to "read" your knitting so you can identify mistakes before they become bigger problems. You'll practice fixing dropped stitches, learn when to tink back and when it's better to rip back, discover how and when to use lifelines, and gain confidence troubleshooting common knitting mishaps. Along the way, you'll develop the skills to understand what went wrong and how to get your project back on track without starting over.
Whether you're working on your first sweater or your fiftieth pair of socks, these are techniques you'll use again and again.
Skill Level:
Advanced Beginner and up. Participants should be comfortable with knit and purl stitches.
Materials:
Please bring a light-colored swatch in smooth worsted-weight yarn (approximately 30–40 stitches wide with several inches of knitting), the needles you used to knit it, and a crochet hook in a similar size. Additional practice materials will be available during class.
